I hope everyone is doing well in the current difficult and challenging circumstances.  Like many, we eagerly anticipated the announcement of the roadmap for Victoria’s reopening. We all wish to see a return to normal activity, unfortunately the plan around public events was not clear and we seek further guidance on the framework for us to commence competition and the phased restrictions that come with it.
We are optimistic we can start our season as planned on 20th November and then have a full and exciting season ahead. What is clear is that vaccination is the way out and our chances of having a “normal” season will depend on this.
There has been a lot happening with the VAL over winter and we look forward to rolling out a few initiatives across the season. We are working to increase our member experience and engagement, providing greater opportunities and incentives for athletes to compete regularly.
Like many sporting bodies we are striving to increase our membership base across all categories and demographics. We need your help with this as we create new pathways to VAL competition. We are also seeking sponsorship partners that align to our sport and can support events or specific categories of members for the duration of the season.
It is terrific to welcome many new officials for this season, it will certainly spread the load across the season and provide a great spread of knowledge and experience to the VAL. Our officials are essentially volunteers and without them we have no sport. Please welcome our new and returning officials for this season;
