I am pleased to announce that registrations for the 2021 season are now open! Thank you to the VAL community for your patience and perseverance while we have been in lockdown. We are thrilled to see the numbers in Victoria reduce to zero (for so many consecutive days) and we hope this can continue so we can hit COVID Normal. As it states below, we will be kicking off the season in January and you can register now. Individual races are not yet available to enter, but Tom is working hard to get everything ready and as soon as we have something listed online for you to enter, we will send out more communications. We appreciate your patience while we get set up. I want to reiterate that while things are slowly returning to some form of normal for many, our season will still look a little different and when the guidelines are updated (based on new information from the State Government) we can tell you exactly what to expect. For now, enjoy the sunshine keep training and I’ll see you on the track.

On Sunday the Victorian State Government announced a further easing of restrictions that will come into effect at 11:59pm Sunday 22 November. The updated roadmap can be found here.

In light of forthcoming changes, the VAL now plan to proceed with our calendar of club events beginning in January.

Whilst the broad nature of the information released gives the league every confidence to prepare for competition in January, we are seeking further clarification around some items to ensure we conduct the events within the restrictions. We will update members on any format changes as soon as possible.

With the latest easing of restrictions coming into effect later this month, the league is more eager than ever to get the 20-21 season underway!

Due to the impacts of the pandemic and the bulk of competition still on offer, the league will be maintaining the usual registration fees. The VAL is self funded and we rely solely on membership to remain operational. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to putting on a great season of racing!

Thank you to those that have already donated. But we still need more help!

Since the pandemic took hold 7 months ago, several community sports clubs across Australia remain closed. Many will find it hard to survive.

The financial impact of COVID-19 has devastated Australian sport—particularly to the Victorian community and club sports that rely on membership fees and local sponsorships to keep the lights on. The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) provides a way for the community to make tax deductible donations to their chosen sporting organisation.

The VAL will allocate all funds raised via the ASF towards maintaining the most optimal level of competition possible for the 2020-21 season.
