HOW TO JOIN THE VICTORIAN ATHLETIC LEAGUE

Joining the VAL is a simple process.

Complete a Registration Form and submit to the VAL. Registration categories are as follows:

A Premium Registration - Athletes can compete in all Victorian Athletic League events $240.00
B Standard Registration $160.00
T Registered as Trainer Only $100.00
F First Year Registrations - Over 25 $100.00
Y Youth / Under 21 - Student Only $50.00
S Secondary Student - First year secondary student competing in Youth races only $10.00
X Free Registration - Available to first year athletes Under 25,
and first year female athletes of any
age who have never competed with the Victorian Athletic League.
Free registration also applies to all New Zealand Athletes of any age.

I INTERSTATE ATHLETES
Must
be a financial member of their Domiciled State League.
Must complete a VAL Reg Form and return prior to or with
first lot of Victorian entries.

The Victorian Athletic League will send you an entry booklet that contains details of each meeting and entry forms for all races.

Once you have entered a race, the League will email you your handicap and the date and time of your event. It is then a matter of turning up and competing.

Many athletes prefer to be coached by a Victorian Athletic League endorsed trainer, however you can also train on your own or with a non-registered trainer.

The Victorian Runners and Trainers Association (VRTA) comprise of volunteer runners and trainers who interested in developing the sport and are also willing to help new athletes get started. Contacts for the VRTA are available from the Victorian Athletic League Office.
